Marc Albrighton Faces Three Weeks Off

Gererd Houllier’s problems have only worsened over the past few weeks as he again loses another player to the injury list – for up to three weeks.

The twenty-one year-old Aston Villa player faces a potential three weeks off for a bout with appendicitis. The condition, that can be potentially serious, is going to cause the player to watch from the sidelines for at least three weeks until he is able to recover fully and be cleared to play on the field.

The illness of Marc Albrighton accompanies the already weakened team that is missing Stiliyan Petrov, Nigel Reo-Coker, Emile Heskey, John Carew, James Collins, Carlos Cuellar, Habib Beye, Fabian Delph and Andreas Weimann from the first team squad.

Throughout the three weeks recovery time needed, Albrighton will miss the Carling Cup Quarter Final at Birmingham City and the Premier League against Arsenal, Liverpool and West Brom. It is likely to be a long three weeks for the young player, with a schedule full of upcoming matches.

Captain of the Team, Richard Dunne, is struggling to put together a list to get the team going but unfortunately is facing difficulty because of the extensive injury list that the team is facing. He, as well as many other members of the team and staff are on edge because of the injuries and are unsure about how they are going to affect the season.

Only time will tell what the team is going to do with the extensive list of players that are missing for the team. How they deal with it may make or break the season of Aston Villa.

Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic Out Resting

It is not uncommon for players to require a break from a relatively tough game that has been played or for players to simply need a break to potentially prevent an injury or recover from an illness that has been suffered from.

Alternatively, players sometimes simply need a rest to get out of the game, in order to get back into the game and start performing. Sometimes, the player needs to take a step back and a rest to have a look at the game that is being played and determine the changes that they need to make to their own game to help the team reach the goal of winning.

Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are set to stay away from the game tonight and out resting in the Manchester United Champion League against the Rangers.

Ferguson has not been able to score through the last nine appearances since his hat trick at the victory against Liverpool in September. After a stunning game for the win, he has been unable to perform – perhaps having something to do with the rest.

To replace the two, Sir Alex Ferguson will likely choose Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling to be placed at the middle of the defense.

As well as the resting players, there is lots of other buzz with the news of potentially acquiring new players. The buzz has been happening for a couple of days, with the potential news of new players being patiently anticipated by thousands of fans.

Twitter Influences Ancelotti Rumors

This is not the first time that a link, a blog post, or even a personal opinion has spread like wildfire through Twitter taking down many that were mentioned through the controversial news.

Recently, a simple blog post and tweet had Carlo Ancelotti was going to resign his post with Chelsea. The social media has created such as bustle that he was forced to address it this week with a press conference where the subject inevitably was brought about.

The entire piece of gossip may have started with one tweet from a reputable Chelsea blogger – and he wasn’t even serious at the time of posting.

“It looks as though the Chelsea blogger is seen as a trusted source of club information and if they have a good following then an article such as this would be distributed very quickly.”

Twitter is becoming increasingly popular as a way for sports clubs to speak directly with the fans but unfortunately it can be hard to interpret anything in one hundred and forty characters that are available through the Tweet. Using Twitter, sports clubs and bloggers should be aware that in the case they are not being one hundred percent clear, the public and fans are often going to take the information as they wish and it may be skewed to result in a rumor that spreads like wildfire.
